Our Services
We offer traditional acupuncture along with other complementary modalities to give you the best treatment plan. Below are brief descriptions of our current services offered.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the practice of inserting fine metal needles to stimulate specific points of the body (acupuncture points or acupoints) that on the meridians. There are about 399 acupoints on the human body along 12 major meridians and 8 extraordinary meridians, aligning with specific conditions that can be treated.
Acupuncture is the most widely used Traditional Chinese healing method practiced globally, which is believed to stimulate the immune system and control inflammation.
Herbal medicine
Traditional Chinese herbal remedies are part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and have been used in China for thousands of years. Most of the herbal medicines are from the root, leaf, stalk, or seeds of all kinds of plants. Over 400 different types of herbs are used in TCM, and TCM practitioners often use combinations of herbs rather than a single herb. Herbal remedies are tailored and changed along with the patient’s conditions.
TDP Heat Lamp Therapy
A TDP lamp is an electromagnetic lamp, which produces far infrared light and therapeutic rays that increase microcirculation. It is used to treat muscle tightness, inflammation, pain, cold symptoms, and weakness etc. The treatment can be done on most parts of the body like neck, shoulders, back, knees, hands, and ankles. It can be used instead of moxibustion, along with acupuncture and cupping.
Cupping
Cupping is a technique that uses small plastic cups as suction devices that are placed on the skin to disperse and break up stagnation and congestion by drawing skin, subcutaneous tissue, blood, body fluid to the surface. TCM practitioners use rubber pumps to create the suction in the cups. Cupping is much like the inverse of massage – rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. This is similar to the practice of Tui Na that targets acupuncture points as well as painful parts of the body, and is well known to provide relief through pressure. It is normal to see bruising after cupping treatment, but skin should return to looking normal within 10 days.
Tui Na
Tui Na, also called Chinese medical massage, is a traditional hands-on treatment method guided by TCM theory. Similar to acupuncture, Tui Na uses the same meridians and acupoints to balance the Qi and blood in your body. The main difference is that acupuncture uses needling techniques, whereas Tui Na uses Chinese massage and manipulation techniques. Tui Na is used to treat pain, musculoskeletal syndromes, and digestive, respiratory, and reproductive system disorders.

Forms of Payment
We accept cash, personal cheque, and e-transfer. We are currently unable to accept credit cards and debit cards.
Expectations
Payment is accepted in advance or due immediately after each visit.
Extended Health Care Insurance
Most employee benefit plans offer partial or full coverage for Natural Health Care services including Acupuncture. Please check your insurance plan for the details of your coverage. If you have insurance coverage you are expected to pay for your services at the time of each visit and send your claims to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Missed Appointments
Please inform us of any possible absences 24 hours prior to your appointment via telephone or email. For any acupuncture appointments missed without notification, you may be charged a “Missed Appointment Fee” equal to the value of your service.
